New Trier Rugby - 2020 Spring Season

The New Trier Rugby Club is getting ready for the 2020 Season. Interest in rugby continues to gain popularity and we know there are quite a few student athletes who will be joining the Club for the first time. We will also be welcoming back all our returning players.

NTRC has had a very successful past decade in developing the Club. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

  • 2019 Fresh/Soph State Runner Up - 2nd Year in a row
  • Ireland Tour – 2016 & 2019
  • 2018 JV and Fresh/Soph State Runner Up - Both teams took 2nd Place in Tier I State Finals
  • 2007 Tier II State Champions
  • 2008 to 2017 – Tier I - 4 State Final Appearances – 1 State Championship
  • Dallas Tours – 2010, 2011, 2012
  • North Carolina Ruggerfest Tour – 2014, 2015, 2017
  • Nashville, Nash Bash Tour, 2018
  • Utilize Howard Park as our practice facility with indoor storage
  • Invigorated Parent Board - increasing size and accountability
  • Consistent ongoing relationship with IBJI and their support of our player safety for over ten years and hundreds of games
  • Players registered grew from 20 to over 75 players in 2017 – introduced over 200 athletes to the game over 10 years
  • Grew from one Tier II squad of 20 to fielding 3 teams – F/S, JV, and Varsity.
  • We are a 501C3 non-profit status
  • Professionally managed Club – insurance, contracts, forms, registration.  Staff of 10 experienced player coaches.

Rugby is a Spring sport. Registration and practices start in early November. We will be practicing indoors until the weather is warm enough to move outside. Games begin late March and end over Memorial Day during the State Championships.

We are a no cut squad and welcome all players interested in learning this terrific sport and wanting to work hard to put in the time and effort to maximize their development. Please reach out if you have any questions to .
